Tornillo, Jean L. age 73 a cancer survivor from Andover Twp., NJ died Wednesday February 8th, 2012 in the Morristown Memorial Hospital following a brief and unexpected illness. Born and raised in Boston, Mass she had lived there for many years before moving to Andover Twp., NJ.
Daughter of the late George and Louise (Langone) Cassell, Jean had graduated from floral design school and had also attended Rutgers University for Landscape Design. A Co-Owner and operator of the Former J&J Garden Center in Andover, Mrs. Tornillo had also worked as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker’s Sparta office for several years until her retirement. Mrs. Tornillo was also well known for her many years as an “On Air Weather Girl” with 103.7 WNNJ Radio. A parishioner of the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church Andover, Jean also enjoyed traveling all over the world. She was a loving and devoted mother, sibling and friend to many who will be sorely missed.
Survivors include her long time companion Rudolph Hoelzl of Andover Twp., her son Christopher J. Tornillo of Albuquerque, NM, her brother George Cassell of Riverhead, NY as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday February 13th, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Good Shepherd RC Church Rt. 517 Andover, NJ. Interment will follow in the Andover Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday February 12th from 1-4 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ.
