Tirpack, Edward Michael
Tirpack, Edward Michael age 82 of Mantoloking, NJ passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, November 9th, 2010, at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born in Bayonne, he grew up in Elizabeth and moved to Union, NJ, then to Atlantic Highlands before settling in Mantoloking in 1996.
Son of the late Michael and Theordora (Makowski) Tirpack, Edward had worked many years as a truck driver and salesman for Drakes Cakes, until his retirement in the early 80’s. A long time member of the Knights of Columbus and the Navy League, he was also a parishioner of the Sacred Heart RC Church in Bay Head, NJ.
n avid NY Giants fan, Edward was a loving, devoted and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Tirpack will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his brother Albert Tirpack as well as his sister Josephine Mularz.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joan (Sabol) Tirpack, his son, Dr. Edward Tirpack II and his wife Laura of Sparta, NJ, his daughters, Janice M. Tirpack, also of Sparta, and Dr. Jill S. Tirpack and her husband Harry Smith of Birmingham, AL. Edward is also survived by his 9 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12th, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Sacred Heart RC Church, Bay Head, NJ. Entombment will immediately follow in the St. Catherine Cemetery, Sea Girt, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Tirpack’s memory may be made to the Boy Scouts of America Patriot’s Path Council in Florham Park, NJ.
