Sweeney-Courtney, Claudette, age 75 of Frankford Twp., NJ died peacefully Thursday June 23, 2016 at the Homestead in Frankford Twp., following a long illness. Born in Newark, NJ she grew up in Irvington, and had lived many years in Lake Lenape, Johnsonburg and Andover Twp.

Daughter of the late Claude and Rose (Morlock) Martineau, Claudette was a graduate of the Irvington High School class of 1958. She later graduated from the Dover Business College. She had worked independently for many years as a private duty caregiver. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Claudette was an active member of the St. Francis Prayer Community and Catholic Charities.

A very social woman, she was a member of the Sparta Seniors and Gardening Club, the Red Hats and the Birthday Club. Claudette enjoyed painting, cooking, gardening and travel. She will truly be missed. Mrs. Sweeney-Courtney was pre deceased by her husband Raymond Courtney and a brother Danielle Martineau.

Survivors include her sons Patrick of Hampton Twp., Philip of Jacksonville, FL and KC of Andover, her daughter Kathleen Baldwin of Newton, her grandchildren Jessica Sweeney-Howard, Patrick Sweeney, Raychel Gallagher and Edward Allen Baldwin IV and her great grandchildren Jennalee, Ethan Howard and Loki Sweeney. Also surviving are her brother Claude Martineau of Indian Harbor, FL and her sister Carol Barton Blufton, SC.

Funeral services will be held Monday June 27th, 2016 at 5 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 5 PM. On-line condolences to www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com
