Strader, Ida Douma age 87 of Fredon Twp., NJ died peacefully Tuesday September 17th 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Friesland Holland, Ida came to the United Sates in 1936 where she resided in Tranquility for many years. She has resided in Fredon Twp. for the past forty six years. Daughter of the late Ernest and Aukje (Ketelaar) Douma, She had worked thirty years as a Home Health Aid with the Visiting Nurse Association of Sparta, NJ.

Ida was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newton. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Singing Adeline’s. Ida performed regularly and especially enjoyed performing at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Polka Night. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Ida was pre deceased by her beloved husband William M. Strader in 1977, as well as her bothers Daniel Douma in 2000 and William Douma in 2002.

Survivors include her son Robert W. and his wife Joyce Strader of Newton, her daughter Deborah L. and her husband Claus H. Seebeck Jr. of Stillwater, as well as her grandchildren Tammy Ross, Larry McMickle, Tracie Rios, Tara McMickle, Jennifer and Tracy Phlegar, her nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday September 20th, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, (Route 206) Newton, NJ 07860. Interment will immediately follow in the Tranquility Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday Sept. 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice #350 Sparta Ave #2 Sparta, NJ 07871.
