Schmidt, Michael Paul, age 39, of Stillwater Twp., NJ died unexpectedly, Saturday, December 13th, 2014. Born in Brattleboro, VT, Michael grew up in the Succasunna section of Roxbury Twp, and has lived in Stillwater Twp for the past 14 years.
An avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, Michael was a loving father who enjoyed outdoor activites with his daughter. He also enjoyed spending time gardening and tending to animals. Michael was an ardent sports fan and had worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Predeceased by his father, William E. Schmidt, Jr., in 2013, Michael is survived by his daughters Harley Jean Schmidt and Ashley N. Naggy. He is also survived by his mother Janice J. Crider-Schmidt of Stillwater Twp.; his brother William E. III and his wife Marie Schmidt also of Stillwater; his sister Kristine Caron Schmidt of Lawrenceville, NJ; as well as Melanie Burdick, the mother of his daughters; his nieces Abbielynn Frances Schmidt, Megan Webber; his nephews William IV, Brandon Michael Schmidt, and Domenick Batty, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 19th, 2014 at 8 pm in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ 07860. Friends may call for visitation Friday from 4pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Michael’s memory to Camp Auxilium #15 Old Swartswood Rd. Newton, NJ 07860.
