Sanders, Dora E.
Dora Elizabeth Sanders (Bensley), age 92 of Andover, NJ died July 6, 2013 at the Homestead in Frankford, NJ, after a long illness. Dora was born March 17, 1921 in Sandyston Twp, NJ, she was a lifelong Sussex County resident. Mrs. Sanders served as the Andover Township Tax Collector prior to her retirement. She was a 50+ year member of the First United Methodist Church of Newton. Within her church she was an active member of the United Methodist Women, Lydia and Diakonia Circles and involved in the making of prayer shawls for distribution. Dora was also a member of the Greater Andover Senior Citizens Group.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence Oliver, Raymond, Chester (Buck), Francis, Chester Arthur Jr. (Cap) Bensley. She was also predeceased by a daughter in 1996, Dorothy Ulrich Smith, of Sparta. Dora is survived by her husband of 72 years, E. Gerald Sanders. One daughter Dina, her husband Ray and their son Tyler Morris, all of Newton and one sister Joan (Bensley) Bond and her husband Robert of New York State.
