Rosenkrans, Lee Allen age 66 formerly of Stillwater, NJ passed away suddenly in the Morristown Medical Center following surgical complications. Born and raised in Stillwater he lived there most of his life before moving to Andover Twp., nine years ago.

Son of the late Floyd Hill Rosenkrans and Marion (nee Roe) Martin, Lee was a graduate of the Newton High School class of 1969. He had also attended Sussex County Community College to enhance his computer skills. Lee had a long and fulfilling career with the former United Telephone Co. of Newton and Lafayette retiring in 1985 as an Outside Facilities Technician.

With a love of baseball, Lee was instrumental in establishing boys little league in Stillwater where he served as a coach. In addition to his coaching, he was an ardent NY Yankees and Giants fan. A former member of the Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Dept., he was also a member of the United Sportsman Gun Club Fredon Twp. as well as the NRA. An avid fisherman he also enjoyed bow and shotgun hunting.

Following his retirement, Lee began coin, sports card and memorabilia collecting. His ancestry sparked his love of history; Lee was a descendant of Colonel John Rosenkrans appointed and under the command of General George Washington, with many connections to Sussex County, The Van Campen Inn as well as the naming of the Sons of the American Revolution Sussex County Chapter the Rosenkrans Family was instrumental in the infancy of Sussex County and the Wallpack/Layton Areas.

Survivors include his beloved wife of forty three years Kathleen Teresa (D’Annibale) Rosenkrans, his son Kyle L. Rosenkrans and his fiancé Laurel Dumont of Montclair, NJ and his daughter Krista L. and her husband Justin Mendola of Fredon Twp. Also surviving are his sisters Jeanne Marion Brown of Hampton Twp., Lois Theresa Rosenkrans and her companion Thomas James Battles of Newton and Lisa Ethel and her husband David Machesney of Columbia, NJ, his Grandchildren Leo Rosenkrans, Luciano and Sofia Lynn Mendola as well as his many nieces, nephews and cousins in New Jersey, Florida, Colorado and Alaska.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday December 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home Friday December 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM as well as Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lee’s memory may be made to either the Stillwater Area Vol. Fire Dept. #929 Stillwater Rd. Newton, NJ 07860 or the American Heart Association www.heart.org.
