Susan Marion Rohde, 84 of Belvedere, NJ passed away peacefully on February 11, surrounded by family after a long-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She died just days before Valentine’s Day which would have been her 61st wedding anniversary.

Susan was born Susan Marion Kane on December 12, 1935 to the late Grace and John Kane in New York City. She was raised in Manhattan and attended George Washington High School in Washington Heights. Susan married and moved to the Bronx and eventually to New Jersey. She resided in Sparta for 30 years before settling in Belvedere 20 years ago.

Susan worked for Glen ridge Savings Bank in Butler then in various restaurants in northern New Jersey. It was late in her career that she found her true calling as a professional Nanny.

Susan was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Kane and sister Joan Fitzgerald and her infant grandchildren Raeann and Tyler Eisenecker. She is survived by her loving & devoted husband Ray Rohde, her daughters Kathy Rohde, Kandy Delgado and her husband Joe, and Doreen Eisenecker and her husband Gene, her three granddaughters Jamison and Kayla Delgado, & Brianne Eisenecker, her loyal friend of over 70 years Patsy Goodwin, her faithful companion Lily, and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home in Newton. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 327 Greenwich Street in Belvidere, NJ. A Luncheon will follow at Bello Giorno 517 Route 46 in Belvidere.
