Rogers, David R. age 73 of Frankford Twp., NJ passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved family Tuesday January 3, 2017 following a long illness. Born in Newark, David has been a resident of Frankford Twp. for many years.

An Eagle Scout, Mr. Rogers proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A retired Sargent in the Newark Police Department, David was a dedicated Police Officer who started First Explorer Post Law Enforcement in the department.

A Master Cabinet Maker, David was the owner of Custom Cabinetry and Copcon Construction. His love of cooking was his way of showing others his loving and caring heart.

David is survived by his longtime companion, Susan Hebel, her children Lauren and David; son Michael (Sandra), granddaughters Larissa and Natalie.

Memorial visitation and Shiva will be held Thursday January 5th from 7-9 PM, Friday memorial visitation only from 7-9 PM and Sunday Shiva and memorial vitiation from 3-5 and 7-9 PM all at the family home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. Newton, NJ 07860. In lieu of flowers memorials in David’s memory may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice #99 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ. Or the Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center.
