Roberts, Alexander T.
Roberts, Alexander T. age 81 of Andover Twp., NJ passed away Tuesday evening July 10, 2018 at the Newton Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Englewood, NJ he grew up in Tenafly, NJ and had lived many years in Andover Twp.
Son of the late Alexander P. and Dorothy May (nee Tennant) Roberts, he was a 1955 graduate of the Tenafly High School. From 1955 to 1957 Alexander proudly served in the US Army Reserve. He was a talented Carpenter, member of the Carpentry Union Local 253 Paterson as well as a successful self-employed General Contractor and Handyman.
A true adventurer, Alexander lived his live as such. An avid Skin Diver, he explored extensively thought out the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. His love of the water drove him to hand build a home in Exuma Bahamas where he dove very often. In addition to diving, he enjoyed his many trips with his friends to Key West where he also was very proficient at spear fishing. Alexander also loved spending as much time as possible with his many friends at his home in Baja CA.
Mr. Roberts had earned his Private pilot license qualifying on a single engine Cherokee. He was also a skilled off road motorcycle rider, an avid marksman and sport clay shooter as well as a passionate outdoorsman and animal lover. For many years, Alexander was a Sports Radio Host with Cupid Radio of Phoenix, AZ.
Survivors include his beloved wife of forty five years Nadine F.X. (nee Rebori) Roberts, his sister Lynne McKelvie, his nephews Duncan and David McKelvie as well as his pet cats.
