Richmond, Samuel L.
Richmond, Samuel L. age 71 of Newton died Saturday September 2, 2017 at his home in Newton following a brief illness. Born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Samuel had also lived in Morristown, NJ before moving to Newton many years ago.
Son of the late OD and Bessie Mae (Laird) Richmond, Samuel enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and many friends. A automobile enthusiast, baseball and football fan, he was especially fond of the NY Jets. Mr. Richmond will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Samuel was pre deceased by a brother Edward Lenoris Richmond as well as a sister Mattye Puckett. Survivors include his daughter Tenicia N. Richmond of Morristown, his son Mark McCollough of Wharton, his grandchildren Jhevan, Jayden McCollough and Kayla Richmond. Also surviving are his sisters Bertha Richmond and Meridell Mason.
Memorial services will be held Friday September 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Route 206) Newton, NJ. Friends may call at the Funeral Home 1 Hour prior to the service.
