Restevo-Slichter, Frieda age 98 of Byram, NJ died peacefully Friday May 24th, 2013 in the House of the Good Shepherd Senior Care Center Hackettstown, NJ. Born in Greenwood Lake, NY she had resided in Wood Ridge, NJ, Denville, NJ and Las Cruces, NM for many years before moving to Byram in 1999.
Daughter of the late Frieda Margaret Luft, Frieda had worked many years as a Waitress for the Paul’s Diner in Mt. Lakes, NJ until her retirement in 1980. An avid reader, Frieda enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. A member of the Byram Twp. Senior Citizens, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Restevo-Slichter was deceased by her first husband Louis Restevo, her second husband Byron Slichter as well as her brother Ernest Luft. Survivors include her daughters Joan Kohler of Westcliffe, CO and Melodie A. Novak of Byram Twp. Also surviving are her sister Betty Meich as well as her ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
