Radler, Elizabeth, 69, of Clifton, NJ died May 1, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Passaic, NJ she had resided most of her life in Clifton as well as some time in Hopatcong.
Daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (VanBeveren) VanHouten, Elizabeth was a graduate of the Clifton High School class of 1962. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sibling who gave selflessly and generously of time and talents. An independent and outgoing person, Elizabeth was co-owner of North Jersey Fork Lift, Inc.
Mrs. Radler loved the shore and enjoyed spending her summers in their home at Wildwood Crest. Elizabeth was an avid United States traveler, especially the Shenandoah Valley, VA. A fun loving person, she enjoyed country music and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her beloved husband of fifty years Steve, her sons Stephen and his wife Catherine of Flanders and David and his wife Katie of Augusta, her daughters Lisa and her husband Michael Dohoney of Toms River and Kristine and her husband Scott Hagy of Bluff City, TN. Also surviving are her ten grandchildren. Her siblings include Arthur and James VanHouten, Ann Van der Valk and the late John VanHouten. Also surviving are her ten grandchildren Ryan Fitzgerald, Michael-Anthony Lambiase, Cara, Andrew and Bethany Hagy, Christopher, Daniel and Eric Radler and Joshua and Sarah Radler, Her siblings include Arthur and James VanHouten, Ann Van der Valk and the late John VanHouten.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 10 AM to 12 PM immediately followed by Funeral Services at 12PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Rt.206) Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Frankford Plains Cemetery, Plains Rd, Frankford, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org
