
Pettenger, Natal Lou
Pettenger, Natal “Lou” age 69 of Branchville, NJ died suddenly Wednesday August 17, 2016 at the Morristown Medical Center. Born and raised in Franklin, he has resided in Branchville since 1975.
Son of the late Arthur S. and Mary Frances (Scarpona) Pettenger, Lou was a graduate of the Franklin High School class of 1967. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a Sargent E-5. A former member of the Franklin Miners football team, he also enjoyed playing competitive Horseshoes.
Mr. Pettenger had a long career as a dry wall and home improvement contractor in the area. A member of the American Legion Post 157 Branchville, he was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed his many trips to the casinos. A long time parishioner of the Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church Branchville, Lou was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Survivors include his beloved wife of forty five years Dolores R. (Parzick), his children Joseph L. and his wife Kristin of Mt. Olive, Sarah R. Pettenger of Branchville, Andrea L. and her husband Thomas Dayon of Branchville and Luke A. also of Branchville. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren Daniel, Kaitlin and Jordan Pettenger, Ryleigh and Frank Dayon, as well as his brothers Arthur and his wife Claire and Ronald and his wife Linda both of Lafayette as well as his sisters Patricia and her husband Ed Vealey of Newton, Kathleen Pettenger of Newport Richy, FL, Nancy Doyle of Vernon Rockville, CT and Eileen and her husband Bruce Williamson of Rehrersvury, PA.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday August 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Church Branchville. Interment will follow in the Northern NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery Sparta. Visitation will be held Monday August 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton.
