Peterson, Emma Marie
Peterson, Emma Marie age 74 of Newton, NJ died Thursday November 1, 2012 in the Valley View Care Center Newton, NJ following a long illness. Born in Pittsburg, PA she had resided in Manhattan, NY and Nutley, NJ for many years before moving to Newton in 1998.
Daughter of the late John and Mary (Silk) Patrick, Emma had worked many years as a secretary for the Hoffmann- LaRoche Corp. Nutley, NJ until her retirement in 1982.
She enjoyed playing golf, and was a former member of the Forrest Hills Field Club Bloomfield, NJ. Emma also enjoyed Gardening, Travel as well as her pets. A former parishioner of the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Nutley, she also attended the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church Swartswood, NJ.
Survivors include her husband Alfred Peterson Jr., her daughter Susan and her husband David Machacek as well as her grandchildren Dawn and David Machacek. Emma is also survived by her cousin Steven and his wife Catherine Silk.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday November 6th, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church 203 Swartswood Rd Swartswood, NJ 07877.
Visitation will be held Monday November 5th, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials in Emma’s name may be made to the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
