Pelt, Iris
Iris “Daisy” Pelt, age 60 of Canton, GA, died Friday March 28, 2014 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born in Newark, NJ, Daisy spent her childhood in both Ogdensburg, NJ and Great Barrington, MA where she graduated from Monument Mountain High School in 1972. She then settled back in Ogdensburg to raise her daughter until later retiring in Canton, GA in 2006. Daughter of Angie Wilkowitz and the late Forrest Howell, Daisy was a longtime employee of Newton Memorial Hospital and beloved friend to the countless people whose lives she touched over the years. She was a spirited woman whose graceful determination to enjoy her life no matter what obstacles were thrown at her made her an inspiration to all who loved her.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Daisy will be deeply missed and forever loved. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jack, daughter Dora Bustos and her husband Karlo of Milton, GA, stepson Marc Pelt and his wife Bing of Columbia, NJ, stepson Robbie Pelt of Andover Twp, NJ, stepdaughter Melissa Lestz and her husband Heath of Newton, NJ, and sister Janet Farnsworth of Lee, MA. Also surviving are 10 cherished grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ on Monday April 7th between 9:30-10:30 am with Memorial Funeral Services immediately to follow at 10:30am.
