
Pegel, Calvin Dwight
Pegel, Calvin Dwight, age 16 of Green Twp. NJ, passed away unexpectedly Saturday October 1, 2016. Born in Livingston NJ, Calvin was a sophomore at Newton High School. He was a happy, gentle soul who made a lasting impression on all who knew him in his too short life.
A true individual with his own ideas about life and how to live it, Calvin loved his family and friends, cross country and track, music, photography, animals, and travel. He was known for his unique sense of humor, his encyclopedic knowledge of arcane facts, his love of adventure, and his fearless exploration of the world around him. Raised in the country, he dreamed of one day living amidst the hustle and bustle of a big city.
Survivors include his parents Robert T. and Zulma (Garcia) Pegel, his brothers Carlos-Jose and Leonardo A. Lopez, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday October 7th, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Rt. 517 Andover, NJ. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday October 6th. From 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvin Dwight Pegel Scholarship Fund, 1 Stone Forge Road, Andover, NJ, 07821, which will reward a 2019 graduate of Newton High School.
