Pallito, Carol age 84 of Newton, NJ formerly of Lafayette, NJ passed away peacefully Monday June 6, 2022, at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Lodi, she continued to raise her family for many years before moving to Lafayette, NJ. Carol relocated to Newton recently to live with her daughter.
Daughter of the late Louis and Marion (nee Kane) Cress, Carol was a graduate of Lodi High School class of 1955. She later attended Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. A Bookkeeper by profession, she and her family owned and operated Cress Exxon and Service Station in Lodi, NJ for many years before her retirement.
A devout parishioner of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church North Bergen, NJ, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved shopping, eating out and reading.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony J. Pallito in June, 2020 and a son Gerard A. Pallito in 2014. Survivors include her loving daughters Janet and husband Art Suriano of Newton, Karen and husband Carl Smith of Rochester, MI and Diane and husband Bruce Rhode of West Milford as well as her son Andrew and wife Joanna of Burlington, VT. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren David, Stephanie, Chelsey, Lauren, Kyle, Kerianne, Sarah and Hunter and her four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 9, 2022, from 4-8 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday June 10, 2022, at 10 AM in the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church #9034 Barr Place North Bergen, NJ 07047.
