O’Shea, Kevin G. age 69 formerly of Staten Island, NY passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side Tuesday July 5, 2017 at his home in Newton, NJ. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY he lived most of his life in Staten Island before moving to Newton in 2015.
Son of the late Timothy and Catherine (Looney) O’Shea, Kevin proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Newport News and the USS Salem as a Marine Mechanic 2nd Class. He had a long career as an Information Systems Technician with first AT&T Brooklyn, NY for thirty years and later Kingsborough Community College for ten years until his retirement in 2010.
A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, Kevin was a kind hearted, gentle and selfless man who always put his family first. An ardent NY Mets fan Kevin also enjoyed the History Channel.
Mr. O’Shea was pre deceased by his beloved wife of thirty eight years the late Eileen F. (Baldwin) O’Shea in 2013 as well as his sisters Sr. Patricia O’Shea Sisters of Mercy, Catherine Enderson and Rosemary Dolan. Survivors include his son Kevin M. O’Shea, his daughter Lauren and her husband (Jason) O’Shea-Guiliano, his brothers Fr. Daniel O’Shea of the Franciscan Order and Timothy O’Shea as well as his cherished grandchildren Nathaniel Shea and Gabriel Shea Guiliano.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held Tuesday July 11, 2017 at 11 AM in Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home 156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ 07860. Graveside services will follow in the Northern NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery #75 North Church Rd. (Rt. 94) Sparta, NJ. Memorial Visitation will be in the Funeral Home Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 AM.
