Montimurro, Joan Fuller age 79 of Layton, NJ died Thursday November 24th, 2011 at the Newton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in the Bronx, NY she had lived in Teaneck, Leonia and Ft. Lee, NJ for many years before moving to Layton twenty six years ago. Daughter of the late Edson and Marion (Pike) Fuller, Joan was a graduate of the Teaneck High School class of 1950. Following High School she graduated from the St. Luke’s School of Nursing NY, NY becoming a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Montimurro had also attended the Jersey City State College studying Psychology.
A proud and dedicated nurse, Joan had worked many years for the Ft. Lee High School as well as being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Joan enjoyed knitting and attending craft fairs. She was a true animal lover and most especially enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Mrs. Montimurro will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty six years Francis “Monti”, her son Mark and his wife Sandra Montimurro of Montclair, NJ, her daughter Melissa Montimurro and her husband Ray Loevlie of Layton; as well as her grandchildren Alex, Andrew, Aaron Tirpack and Aidan Loevlie.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 28th, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home 156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Layton Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday November 27th from 3-6 PM.
