Dr. Kevin Edward Miller, age 61 of Newton passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 5:17AM in the loving presence of his family. He lived with an overwhelming generosity and a sense of purpose that reached far beyond his own. Kevin thought he was “The King of the World”. He was the king of his family’s world. He was their rock, their strength, their source of reason. He was the reason to be better, the reminder to be compassionate.

He was the glue that held his family together. He had a way of bringing people together; over laughter, over coffee, over wine. And although he was the life of the party, he could always hear you; always feel you, even when you thought no one could. He was shy, but a strong influence over the lives of many.

He was born in Long Beach, Long Island and spent most of his youth at the beach, swimming, surfing, pulling pranks and cracking jokes. Mr. Miller lived in California and graduated from Los Angeles Chiropractic College in 1987. He then moved to Sparta, NJ before moving to Newton, 20 years ago. He was very down to earth, but his spirit soared. He always said life should be an adventure and he would drive for hours to see someone he loved for just a few minutes.

Son of the late Chester E. and Josephine F. (Montague) Miller, Dr. Miller worked as a Chiropractor at Health Chiropractic Rehabilitation and Park Avenue Chiropractic both of East Orange, NJ. Kevin was a 33 degree Mason of the NJ Valley of Northern NJ order of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He is survived by his fiancé Dianne Pearce of Newton, NJ, two daughters; Natalie J Miller and her fiancé Kyle Snyder of Andover, NJ, and Julia R. Miller and her fiancé, Daniel J. Rolfe of New Hampshire. Kevin is also survived by a brother, Thomas W. Miller and his wife Kathy of Long Island, NY and a sister, Nora Jean Miller of Manhattan, NY.Kevin was a selfless man who loved quietly but tenderly.

He dedicated his life to helping others, as a chiropractor, as a mason, as a husband, and as a father. He will forever be remembered as our father, brother, partner, friend, but most of all, as our greatest love. He will forever be the light behind our eyes, the breath in our laughter, the warmth in our hearts, the spirit in the wind.
