Kenneth McGuinness, age 58 of Hopatcong passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer. Kenny was born in Newark and spent most of his life in Hopatcong.

Son of the late James P and Kathleen (nee Kantor) Ken had proudly served in the United States Navy from 1981 through 1985 as an Engineman – he was pleased to have been selected as the Captain’s Engineman. Kenneth had a long career as a Master Carpenter, and he enjoyed fishing on the lake. He was a caring and compassionate man who loved all animals and was available to anyone in need especially senior citizens.

He was predeceased his brother James A McGuinness in 2008. He is survived by his sister Lesa McGuinness and her fiancé Dave La Starza. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Newton Medical Foundation or Avian Wildlife Center, 146 Neilson Rd., Wantage, NJ 07461

Visitation will be held Saturday evening January 2, 2020 from 4 to 7 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Online condolences through www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com
