Marilyn Elizabeth Beyel, age 71 of Lake Shawnee, NJ died peacefully at her home on October 18, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in the Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Joseph V. and Rose M. (nee Covello) Foti, Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother and aunt. She was an angel who cared for people more than she cared for herself. She was always there to lend a hand.

Marilyn spent a number of years in secretarial and administrative management positions before becoming a full-time mom to her two sons. In later years, she found her true calling as a special education aide for kindergarten through second grade children in the Jefferson Twp., NJ Schools District. It was a role she loved and enjoyed for seventeen years before her retirement in 2020.

Mrs. Beyel was predeceased by her nephew/godson Michael Steccato. She is survived by her loving husband of forty years, Jim Beyel, her sons Kevin and Christopher Beyel as well as her sister Valerie Steccato.
Visitation will be held Monday October 25, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. Rt. 206 Newton, NJ 07860. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday October 26, 2021 at 10 AM in the Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church #204 Espanong Rd. Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849. Interment will immediately follow in the Frankford Plains Cemetery Frankford NJ.
