Lloyd, John H. age 83 of Frankford Twp., NJ passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side Monday February 27, 2017 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice Fredon Twp. Born in Long Island Queens, NY he grew up there and had lived many years in Manhattan, NY. John travelled extensively during his career before settling in Frankford Twp. in 1998.
Son of the late John and Frances (Ferber) Lloyd, John proudly served in the US Army as an SP5 ER Medical Unit in Germany during the Korean War. A Material Coordinator for many years with Continental Can Corp now known as Crown Cork & Seal of Lansdale, PA, Mr. Lloyd retired in 1998.
An active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church Newton, he also served as an Usher. John was a member of the American Legion Post 157 Branchville, as well as serving as a volunteer with the Sussex County Election Bd. Frankford Twp. A dedicated Yankee fan, John enjoyed spending time with his family, going on cruises, casinos in AC. Mr. Lloyd also enjoyed washing and waxing his cars as well as riding on his lawn tractor. He was well known in his neighborhood for his meticulous lawn and gardens as well as his families many fond memories of him being the “Grill master”. Mr. Lloyd will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him, including his cat “Bradley”.
John was pre deceased by his sister Dorothy Callahan in 1977. Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty years. Ann M. (Carriera), his sons John J. and his wife Kathy of Hampton Twp., and Ed R. and his wife Sheila of Royersford, PA; his daughters Dianne and her husband Dennis Quinn of West Milford, NJ and Joanne and her husband Phil Saul of Stillwater. Also surviving are his sister Patricia Delli Paoli as well as his grandchildren Jason and Julia Kozak, Taylor, Dennis and Summer Quinn and Peyton, Evan and Zac Saul as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held Friday March 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with prayer and military services at 8:15 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home 156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton. Memorial Funeral Services will be held Saturday March 4, 2017 at 11 AM in the Redeemer Lutheran Church #37 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice www.karenannquinlanhospice.org, the American Legion Post 157 Branchville or Redeemer Lutheran Church www.redeemernewton.org .
