Krotje, Josephine B. “Jo”
Krotje, Josephine B. “Jo” age 94 of Green Twp., NJ died Thursday September 22, 2016 at the Barn Hill Care Center following a long illness. Born and raised in Green Twp., she was a lifelong resident.
Daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Mauceri) Insinga, she was a graduate of the Newton High School class of 1940. She was married to the late Jacob Krotje for sixty nine years until his passing in 2011. Jo assisted her husband with their family Plumbing and Heating business, was an avid vegetable gardener, excellent cook & baker who enjoyed watching the many Bluebirds in the birdhouses Jacob built. She was a lifelong parishioner of the St. Joseph RC Church Newton, the Farmers Enterprise, Sussex County Agricultural Society Grange and a 4H Dairy Club leader.
Jo was pre deceased by her sisters Anna Insinga and Dolly Przybylski as well as her brothers James, Jacob and Anthony Insinga. Survivors include her daughters Linda and her husband Keith Wall of Green Twp., and Carol and her husband Chris Sherman of LA, CA. Also surviving are her grandchildren Katelyn and Kyle Wall of Green Twp. and Stephen Sherman of LA, CA and Randy Sherman of Belgium as well as her brother Philip Insinga of Green Twp.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday September 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the St. Joseph RC Church Newton, NJ. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery mausoleum. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 8:00 to 9:30 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt.206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jo’s memory may be made to the Green-Allamuchy Rescue Squad PO Box 25 Tranquility, NJ 07879-0025.
