Koman, Charles Sr. age 98 of Gastonia, NC died peacefully Thursday Oct. 31, 2013 at the Alexandria Place Care Center Gastonia, NC. Born in Paterson, NJ he had lived many years in Wyckoff and Newton, NJ before moving to North Carolina three years ago.

Son of the late Abraham and Cornelia (nee Hook) Koman, Charles had served in the US Army as a Sgt. T-3 during World War II. A machinist by trade, he had worked over thirty years before his retirement in 1978 from the Modern Plastics and Machinery Corp. of Clifton, NJ. He was a member and past Commander of the VFW Post 7086 Midland Park and Wyckoff.

Mr. Koman was pre deceased by his beloved wife Harriet R. (nee Hall) Koman in 2002 as well as his brother John Koman. Survivors include his sons Charles and his wife Debbie Koman and Wayne Koman, his daughters Lois Saia and Kathi Koman, as well as his nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were private and under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral home 156 Main St (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ 07860
