Kambach, Robert C. “Bob” age 76 of Byram Twp., NJ passed away suddenly at his home Friday September 22, 2017. Born in Bayonne, NJ he grew up in Avenel, NJ and has resided in Byram Twp. for the past forty years.
Son of the late Herman and Helen (Daly) Kambach, Robert graduated from the St. Mary’s High School Class of 1958 and later earned his Bachelor’s degree in English at Rutgers University. He proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany with the rank of E-4 from 1959 to 1962.
A long-time parishioner of the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Mr. Kambach had a long career with BASF in Mt Olive Twp. retiring as a Training Manager. He enjoyed working on computers, amateur photography and a good pun as well as spending time in Greenacres, Florida at their winter home. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend of many, Robert will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Kambach was pre-deceased by his brothers Richard and Donald Kambach. Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-two years Suellen (Rumpeltin) Kambach, his daughters Melissa and her husband Michael Plone Jr. of Framingham Mass., and Allyson B. Kambach of Denville, NJ. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren Abigail and Kathryn Plone as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday September 27th at 10:00 AM in the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church #48 Tranquility Rd. (Rt. 517) Andover, NJ. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery Airport Rd. Andover. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main Street (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials in Robert’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org.
