Frederick William Juhls Jr., age 52, passed away peacefully in his home with his loving family at his side on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Born in Dover, NJ, he grew up in Newton and lived many years in Mendham.

A graduate of Newton High School class of 1984, Fred had a long career in the environmental health and safety industry. He was a life member of the Randolph Rescue Squad, as well as a member of the Mendham and Riverdale volunteer fire departments.

Fred was pre-deceased by his father, Frederick W. Juhls Sr. and step-fathers, Thomas Madden and Eugene Nemeth. He is survived by his son Evan Z. Juhls, daughter Rachael B. Meyers, son-in-law Dr. John J. Meyers Jr., mother Barbara J. Nemeth, and companion Terry Crowley. Also surviving are his brothers Alan Madden, Michael and Mark Juhls, Scott and Patrick Nemeth, and his sister Lori Otto. He also has a rowdy group of loving cousins and aunts.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday , June 13, 2018 at 11am at Our Lady of the Lake Church at 294 Sparta Avenue, Sparta, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral home in Newton, NJ. In lieu flowers, memorial donations in Fred’s name can be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice or the Randolph Rescue Squad.
