Inkeles, Margery I. age 76 of the Lake Mohawk Section of Sparta Twp., NJ passed away peacefully Monday evening October 30, 2017 at her home with her loving family at her side. Born in Bonne Terre, MO she grew up in Columbia, MO, she had also resided in Manhattan, NY before moving to Sparta Twp. many years ago.
Daughter of the late Rev. Hugh Olin and Norma (nee Wagner) Isbell, Margery had attended the Stephens College and graduated from the University of Missouri earning her degree in Speech Therapy. She had worked many years in her field as well as volunteering for the Sparta School system. A loving and devoted wife, mother and sister, Margery had served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader in Sparta many years ago. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her beloved husband of forty nine years Dr. David M. Inkeles, her sons Charles H.A. of NYC, and John J.W. and his wife Sheree L. of Washington, DC. Also surviving are her daughters Dr. Barbara L. Inkeles of Philadelphia, PA and Laura J. Inkeles and her fiancé Jason Kanow of Gaithersburg, MD as well as her sister Janet and her husband Dr. Bill Mody of Lawrence, KS her nephews Dr. Cyrus Mody of Maastricht, Netherlands, Adam Holland of NYC, her niece Leslie Holland of NYC and her brother in law Richard Holland of Wood Mere, NY.
Funeral services will be held Thursday November 2, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Route 206) Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery Queens, NY. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday evening November 1, 2017 from 7-9 PM.
