Engle, Lauren D.
Engle, Lauren D. age 77 of Hamburg, NJ died Monday January 19, 2015 at the Newton Medical Center. Born in Newark, NJ he had lived in Bloomfield, East Orange, Manahawkin, NJ, Florida and Virginia before moving to Hamburg twenty years ago.
Son of the late Raymond Stuart and Helen Gould (David) Engle, Lauren proudly served in the US Army from 1956 to 1959. He had worked many years as a Truck Mechanic before his retirement. An avid reader of literature and history, Lauren also enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. He also enjoyed model trains and boats as well as listening to jazz music.
Survivors include his beloved wife of twenty eight years Barbara (Freeman) Engle, his sons and daughters Janet Leigh and her husband John Jessup of N. Prince George, VA, Raymond Bennett and his wife Kelly Engle of Washington, NJ, Brent Stuart and his wife Carmen Engle of Orange, NJ, Walter and his wife JoAnne Engle of East Orange, NJ and Tonya and her husband Richard Laird of Plato, MO. Also surviving are his cherished seventeen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday January 21, 2015 from 2-3 PM immediately followed by memorial services at 3:00 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ.
