Ellingsen. Robert S.
Ellingsen, Robert S. age 75, of Stillwater, NJ died peacefully Tuesday May 20, 2014 at the Holly Manor Center in Mendham, NJ following a long illness. Born in Orange, NJ he grew up in Stillwater and was graduated from Newton High School in 1956. He proudly served in the US Air Force and upon discharge he settled near Bangor, Maine. From there he moved to Ocoee, Florida to live in the warm weather he loved until illness required him to spend the last year of his life with family in Maine, Illinois and NJ.
Robert had worked many years as an Oil Company Manager overseeing service stations and then fuel deliveries. He was so proud and loved to tell others of the accomplishment of his sons. He was an ardent cook and he truly enjoyed sharing time with his dogs, Max and Jesse. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Orono, Maine.
Preceeding him in death are his parents Clarence T. and Kathleen M. (Smith) Ellingsen and his nephew John Todd D’Annibale. Survivors include his sons S.M.Sgt., Maine Air National Guard, Jay Ellingsen and wife Jackie of Glenburn, Maine and Lt.Col. USAF Kristian Ellingsen and wife Stacey of Gainesville, VA, his siblings C. Ted and wife Joyce Ellingsen of Norwich, NY, Kathleen and husband Kirk Hooey of Maple Park, IL, Virginia and husband Lee Hammond of Stillwater, NJ and Karen and husband John D’Annibale of Newton NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren Dawn Percevecz, her husband Matt and their child Luka, Kyle and Taylor Ellingsen and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday morning June 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Harmony Hills United Methodist Church #919 Fairview Lake Rd. Stillwater, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Rt.206) Newton, NJ.
