Eager, Edmund J.
Eager, Edmund J. age 89 of Newton passed away peacefully Monday April 3, 2017 at the Newton Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Irvington, he grew up in Livingston; raised his family and lived many years in Newton.
Son of the late Edmund and Elizabeth Eager, Edmund proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. A professional tree surgeon, he also enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and pigeon racing. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, Edmund will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Eager was pre deceased by his beloved wife Agnes (Writt) and a son Michael Eager. Survivors include his loving daughters Peggy and her husband Jeff Collins and Eileen and her husband Brian Ross all of Stillwater. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren Brett and Erin Ross as well as his sisters Eileen, Betty Eager and Kathleen Quinn and his brother William Eager.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt 206) Newton. Interment will immediately follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery Newton. Visitation will be in the Funeral Home one hour prior to the funeral.
