Duffus-Thompson, Michael Trevor, age 33 of Flanders, NJ, died Friday, January 4, 2019. Born in Hackettstown, NJ, Michael grew up in Newton, NJ. Son of Victoria Lee Thompson and the late John Duffus.
Michael was graduated from middle school at Florence M. Burd School, Newton, NJ, and completed a summer camp program at Valley Forge Military Academy. Michael later attended a year of high school at Admiral Farragut Academy.
Michael was graduated from Newton High School, class of 2003. He earned his BS in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, NJ, in 2010.
Michael was an avid swimmer, competing with Newton High School, Aqua Gems Swim Club, Northern Duchess Aquatic Club, Pine Bush Piranhas, and Jersey Gators Swim Team. He also enjoyed weight lifting and worked as a lifeguard during high school.
Michael was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Coralie S. and Robert Thompson, of Newton and Andover, NJ. Survivors include his Aunts Marjorie Thompson, of Sterling, VA, Mary and Becky Duffus, of Florida, his Uncles Chris Thompson, of Fairfax, VA, Joe Duffus, of Florida, and Cliff Duffus, of North Carolina, as well as his Brothers Eric Duffus, of Salinas, CA and Steve Duffus.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Tranquility Cemetery.
