Doone, Holly S.
Holly Shawn Doone was an artist, nature lover, teacher, mother, wife, and free spirit. She had a big personality and an even bigger heart. If she wasn’t creating art, she was trying to gift away her possessions to those who needed them more. As a long time environmental and animal rights activist, she donated to charities regularly. She lived in Virginia, North Carolina, and settled down in New Jersey.
Her love of travel could never be contained and she could always be found outside taking pictures or going on impromptu adventures. She always had the ability to connect with people from all walks of life and idealized the positive change that we can all make in the world. She is survived by her two sons, Dylan Douglas Doone and Jacques Cartier, her loving husband James Doone, as well as her three grandchildren Sennen Aldous Doone, Giavanna Cartier, and Dakota Cartier. Her lessons will never be forgotten and the lives that she touched will always carry her with them.
Memorial Visitation will be held Friday December 20, 2013 in the Iliff Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Rt. 206), Newton, N.J. from 5 to 6:30PM immediately followed by Memorial Services at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, she would wish for donations made in her honor supporting the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. http://www.alzfdn.org/ContributetoAFA/makeadonation.html
