Dicarlo, Addolorata (Dora) age 86 of Andover Twp., NJ passed away peacefully Saturday evening January 27th, 2018 at the Overlook Medical Center Summit, NJ. Born and raised in Rutigliano, Italy, Dora raised her family there before coming to the United States in 1973 settling in Andover Twp.
Daughter of the late Nicola and AnnaGiulia (nee Poli) Valenzano, Addolorata was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had worked as a seamstress for Leona Fashion of Rockaway Twp. for several years before becoming a full time care giver for her late Mother in Law.
An original and devout parishioner of the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church Andover, she also was dedicated to her religious studies, constantly reading and praying. Dora’s passion was her family especially cooking and spending time together.
Survivors include her beloved husband of sixty three years Nicola Dicarlo, her sons Vito and his wife Rosaria Dicarlo, John and his wife Kathy Dicarlo, and Fernando and his wife Margie Dicarlo. Also surviving are her daughters Catherine and her husband Filippo Poli and Anna and her husband Joe Delledera as well as her fifteen grandchildren and four great granddaughters.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday February 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church #48 Tranquility Rd. Andover, NJ. Entombment will immediately follow in the St. Joseph RC Church Cemetery Newton, NJ. Visitation will be held Wednesday January 31, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (rt. 206) Newton, NJ.
