DeLuca, William A. age 85 of Drake Manor in Newton passed away peacefully Saturday August 12, 2017 at his home in the company of close family. Born and raised in New York City, William had resided in Parsippany for over 30 years, and in Newton since 1998.

Son of the late Vincent and Eugenia (DeMartino) DeLuca, William valued Education and Service to Country. A graduate of the Benjamin Franklin HS NYC Class of 1949, William later graduated from the US Air Force ROTC program at Purdue University with his BS in Chemical Engineering in 1953. After proudly serving in the Air Force Strategic Air Command as a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean War, William earned his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Newark College of Engineering. A licensed Professional Engineer, William had a long career as a Chemical Engineer, first with NOPCO Co. Harrison, NJ and later retiring from Schering Plough Union, NJ in 1995.

An avid bowler and softball player, William enjoyed playing for his company teams. He was pre deceased by his beloved wife Carole A. (Neville) DeLuca in 2010 and his brother Joseph in 1965. William is survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday August 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the St. Joseph RC Church #24 Halsted St. Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery #712 Grove St. Montclair, NJ. Visitation will be held Thursday August 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main Street (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ.
