Davey, Lena H.

 In Uncategorized

Davey, Lena Harriet age 64 of Hampton Twp., passed away peacefully April 1st, from pancreatic cancer, with her loving husband, Chuck, by her side. Lena was a very positive person, and strong in will. She was game for any adventure, and she got to travel the world. She saw Dubai and rode over the dunes to a dinner and show at a desert oasis. She rode a camel and walked the Siq at Petra in Jordan. She waved and whistled to the soldiers we passed as we sailed through the Suez Canal. She looked out over Paris from the upper levels of the Eiffel Tower, and posed with the street performers on Las Ramblas in Barcelona.

In 2018 she saw all the sites of antiquity in Egypt and climbed up the Grand Gallery to the King’s Chamber inside Khufu’s Great Pyramid. At the Valley of the Kings she toured King Tut’s tomb. She went parasailing on Orient Beach in St. Martin. She did so much that others only dream of, and she was always thankful and thrilled that she got to travel to so many of the wonders of the world.

Daughter of the late Nelden and Lena (Schick) McMickle, she leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, Charles “Chuck” Davey, son Michael McMickle, daughter, Christina Davey Justino, 5 grandchildren, sister Juanita Washer, brothers Thomas, John and Jerry McMickle, her sisters-in-laws Chardelle Davey Blasberg and Dorian Davey Alu.

There is no good time to die, yet now is the worst time to die, as we all are left to grieve for Lena apart. But she will live forever in our hearts.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lena’s memory may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice www.karenannquinlanhospice.org.
