D’Ambrosio, Ciriaco (Ciro)
D’Ambrosio, Ciriaco (Ciro) age 90 of Newton, NJ passed away peacefully Thursday March 1, 2018 in Andover, NJ. Born and raised in Valva Salerno, Italy, Ciro came to the United States where he settled in Newton.
Son of the late Giovanni and Antonietta Feniello D’Ambrosio, Ciro earned a Degree in Physics from the University of Parma, Italy. He also earned his Master’s degree in Italian from Rutgers University as well as attended Montclair University. Ciro was a teacher of mathematics, science, physics and Italian in several New Jersey School Systems, retiring from the Passaic Public School system in 1994. A proud member of the NJEA, he had also been a member of the National Teachers Association as well as the Passaic Education Association.
A parishioner of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Ciro was pre deceased by a brother Americo D’Ambrosio as well as a sister Giaccomina D’Ambrosio. Survivors include his beloved wife Nancy J. (nee Feller) and his son John A. of Tallahassee, FL. Also surviving are his brothers Dr. Victor and his wife Mildred D’Ambrosio of Palm Springs CA, Mario and his wife Lamar D’Ambrosio of Sao Paulo, Brazil, his sister Fernanda D’Ambrosio of Sao Paulo, Brazil as well as his sister in laws Carmen D’Ambrosio of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Joan Feller of East Stroudsburg, PA.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 12:30 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Visitation will be in the funeral home Tuesday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in the Newton Cemetery. Online condolences through www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com.
