Colwell, Roseann Sarah
Roseanne Sarah Colwell age 85 of Byram Township, NJ passed away peacefully Sunday September 17, 2017 at the Newton Medical Center. Born in Yonkers, NY Roseanne lived many years in Castle Hill-Bronx, Scarsdale and Long Island New York before moving to Byram Township in 1990.
Daughter of the late Samuel and Charlotte J. (Thompson) Foster, Roseanne had worked as a Barbizon Model in New York City as well as a Switchboard Operator for Bell Telephone Manhattan, NY. A talented Ballet dancer, she was a voracious reader who studied American Indian Culture. She was a keenly intuitive woman as well as a constant student of nature and spirituality. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and homemaker, Roseanne will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was pre deceased by her beloved husband James A. Colwell in 1988, her sister Charlotte DeBellis, and her daughter in law Doreen Colwell as well as a grandson Ryan Colwell. Survivors include her sons James M. Colwell of Leawood, Kansas, Casey Colwell of Smithtown, NY and her daughter Lorna Rose Lee of Byram Twp., NJ. Also surviving are her grandchildren Erin Meyer, James F., Nicole, Christopher and Melissa Colwell as well as her great grandchildren Minna, Fritz, August Meyer, James and Elizabeth A. Colwell.
