Carriera, Iris L., Age 71 of Hampton Township, died peacefully Saturday, September 22, 2012 at her home. Born December 18, 1940 in Allamuchy, NJ she had lived in Stillwater Township for many years before moving to Hampton eleven years ago.
Daughter of the late Walter “Mike” and Nina (Savacool) Elston, Iris was a graduate of the Allamuchy Middle School and the Hackettstown High School Class of 1960. A loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Iris was a devoted homemaker, who was a leading example of everything good in the world. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Predeceased by her brother Branton Elston, Iris is survived by her beloved husband Domenick.
Also surviving are her loving children, Joseph Carriera of Stillwater, Deborah and her husband Greg Peil of Hampton, and Marie Carriera of Stillwater. Her cherished grandchildren, Lindsay and Nicholas Carriera, Gregory Peil, and Domenick Batty, her siblings Dale and his wife Carolyn Elston of Lake Tranquility, Lois and her husband George Dimiceli of Hackettstown, Jane and husband John Traylor of Hampton, Bruce and his wife Noreen Elston of Phillipsburg, NJ.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday Sept 26, 2012 from 2-4 PM immediately followed by memorial services at 4PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ.
