Burse, Beulah I. “Nan” age 96 of Hamburg, NJ passed away peacefully Tuesday December 17, 2019 at the Newton Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Smyth County, VA, Nan grew up in Sugar Grove, VA before settling in Sussex County in 1951.
Daughter of the late James Ward and Nellie (nee Kincer) Irvin, Nan was a talented Basketball player for Sugar Grove High School. Ms. Burse had worked many years with the McGregor Clothing Co. Dover, NJ as a Leather Matcher and Sorter. A loving, dedicated and hard working mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Nan also enjoyed sewing, quilting, spending time with her family as well as visiting her relatives in Virginia. Nan also had an opportunity to travel to Hawaii and Montana with her family.
Ms. Burse was pre deceased by her husband James M. Burse, a son David A. Burse as well as her six brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her son Ronnie C. Burse and his companion Millie G. Corbett of Vernon, NJ, her daughters Jeanne Widdicombe of Mesa, AZ, Judy C. Kelley of Hamburg, Betty S. McWhorter of Chino Valley, AZ and Sandi D. Burse of Chandler, AZ. Also surviving are her sister Frances Bennett of Cedar Grove, VA, her grandchildren Kathy Sozanski, Ryan Kelley, Victoria Ziatyk, Matthew Kelley, Gregory Kelley, Allison Widdicombe, Nicholas Widdicombe and Tyler Burse as well as her eleven great grandchildren.
Private arrangements are under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.
