
Bodner, Edward P.
Bodner, Edward P. age 83 of Newton, NJ died at his home unexpectedly Tuesday September 4, 2012. Born in the Hurdtown section of Jefferson Twp., NJ he grew up and had lived many years in Lake Hopatcong, NJ until moving to Newton where he has resided for the past sixty years.
Son of the late John and Anna (Kushman) Bodner, Edward was a graduate of the Wharton High School class of 1947. Mr. Bodner had worked over forty years until his retirement as a Truck Driver and Mechanic for the Superior Carriers Kenvil, NJ. A loving and devoted husband, father and sibling, Edward enjoyed his work as well as anything mechanical. He enjoyed NASCAR and old movies; he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Bodner was pre deceased by three brothers James, John and Paul Bodner, his sister Anna Bakos as well as his cherished cat “Kitty Kat”.
Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty years Jean M. (Shafer), his son Gary E. Bodner of Andover Twp., and his daughter Lori Bodner of Hackettstown, NJ. Also surviving are his brother Kenneth Bodner of Morristown as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday evening September 7th from 6 to 9PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Entombment services will be private.
