Bober, George Joseph age 94 of Lafayette Twp., NJ passed away peacefully at his home Thursday August 22, 2013. Born in Newark, NJ George retired to Lafayette in 1981.

Son of the late Andrew and Julia (Pasternak) Bober, George proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He worked thirty one years for Western Electric of Kearny, NJ as a punch press operator until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

George enjoyed his daily routine visiting all his friends at the local stores in Newton and Lafayette. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather brother and friend, He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

George was pre deceased by his son in law Andrew Mikita in 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty eight years Marlyn P. (Liszkowicz) Bober, his four daughters Eileen Ziegler, Sharon and her husband Bob Andrews, Donna Mikita and Michele Bober. Also surviving are his grandchildren Chris and her husband Tom Gorrell, Michael Ziegler, Andrea Mikita, Kyle and Whitney Andrews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday August 25, 2013 at 5:30 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home 156 Main St. Newton, NJ. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice #99 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ 07860.
