Bensley, Carol age 87 of Newton passed away peacefully Friday May 13, 2022 following a long illness. Born in Newton, she grew up in Byram Twp, had lived in Green Twp. and Andover before moving to Newton many years ago.
Daughter of the late Harvey and Mildred Padgett, Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers as well as maintaining her spotless clean home. She was a talented crafter who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband Ellsworth E. Sr. in 1990, her daughter Bonnie Bensley as well as her sisters Lorraine Blahut, Joyce Ujvary, her brothers Howard and Harvey Padgett, her granddaughter Leslie Storms as well as her sister in laws Arleen and Beverly Padgett. Survivors include her sons Ellsworth E. Jr and his wife Claudia of Andover Twp., James and his wife Lenir of Sparta, Timothy, and Mark Bensley both of Newton, her daughters Miriam and her husband Joseph Kmetz of NY, Louise, and her husband Leo Kretchik of PA, Joyce Rhodes of Hardyston Twp., Lila Bensley of Easton, PA., and her brother Whitfield Padgett of PA. Also surviving are her Grandchildren Abe, Debbie, Joe, Kayla, Lexi, Lynn, Melinda, Melissa, Michael, and Great Grandchildren Addison, Andy, Ariana, Brady, Brandon, Cecilia, Charlie, Corbin, Tatyana, Tori, Willow, and Xavier.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 19, 2022 from 9 to 11 AM immediately followed by funeral services at 11 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main Street (Rt. 206), Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Newton Cemetery. Online condolances through www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com.
