Barrett, John L. “Jack” age 81 of Green Twp., NJ died peacefully at home with his loving family at his side Saturday October 24, 2015. Born and raised in New York, NY, Jack lived many years in Jersey City before moving to the Lake Tranquility Section of Green Twp., forty one years ago.

Son of the late John and Margaret (Keane) Barrett, Jack proudly served as a US Army veteran 25th Infantry; who was wounded during the Korean War. Mr. Barrett worked many years as a tractor trailer driver for United Parcel Service from the Secaucus NJ facility until his retirement. A quiet and friendly man, he enjoyed reading, following the New York football teams but most of all spending time with his family.

A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Jack was pre deceased by a daughter Laura Mauceri and a sister Dorothy Gunn. Survivors include his beloved wife of many years Patricia (Farrell), his sons John M. Barrett and Michael and his wife Joellen as well as his daughter Patricia and her husband Kevin Kaiser, and his son-in-law Marc Mauceri. Also surviving are his only granddaughter and seven grandsons.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday November 7, 2015 from 1-3 PM with memorial funeral services immediately following at 3PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home 156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jack’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project
