Atamanchuk, David Nicholas age 77 of Lafayette Township, NJ died Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the Newton Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in North Arlington, NJ David had lived in Parsippany, NJ for many years before moving to Lafayette in 1994. The son of the late Nicholas Atamanchuk and Ellen (Gibbons) Pelsen , He was a graduate of the North Arlington high School. A US Army Veteran, David proudly served from 1960 to 1964.
Mr. Atamanchuk had worked many years as a Construction Foreman with the Laborers International Local #3 Elizabeth, NJ. David was an avid boater and enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and football.
Survivors include his wife Rita M. (Stefanak), his Daughters Elaine LaIacoma of Stanhope and Diane Batson of Chino Valley, AZ. His step son Keith Pruden Jr. of Fulshear, TX, as well as his grandchildren Miranda and Davin LaIacoma, Kimberly, Shane and Krystal Peltz, Paige, Zoe and Mackenzie Pruden. Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday January 25, 2014 at 12:00 PM in the Iliff Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, N.J.
