Pavel (Paul) Cholasta

Pavel (Paul) F. Cholasta, 64 died peacefully at his home on Thursday evening, May 7th, 2009, following a long illness, born in the Czech Republic, Pavel moved to the United States in 1968, where he breifly lived in New York City, then moved to Bergen County, living in Teaneck and then Rutherford.  While living in Bergen County he worked in restaurant industry as a general manager and owner.  Most notably, he was one of the original owners of the Bicycle Club, a landmark restaurant in Englewood Cliffs, and was general manager for Eton's the first four star steak house in New Jersey, before moving to Hampton Township in 1992.

Pavel was a devoted and dedicated husband, stepfather, friend and neighbor to all who knew him.  For the last 12 years Pavel had been a language specialist for the federal government, first with the Justice Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and more recently as a supervisory language specialist for the Department of Homeland Security.  Survivors include his wife, Patricia; his mother, Vera Klimesova Cholastatova of the Czech Republic; his stepdaughter, Jennifer A. Juliano, of Rutherford, NJ; and his stepsons James V. Juliano and his wife, Patricia of Wycoff, NJ.

Funeral services for Pavel will be held on Tuesday, May 12th, 2009.  Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11th, 2009 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, at the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ  07860.
