Vivian Bertha Reinhardt

Vivian Bertha Reinhardt, age 89 years, a resident of Elkins and a patient in the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, passed away Sunday morning, January 25, 2009 in the Center. She was born September 2, 1919 in Springhill, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Wilford and Eva Spence Rushton. On August 4, 1950 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she married Eugene Allen Reinhardt who preceded her in death on June 10, 1985. Surviving are one son, Lyonel E. Reinhardt, Boonton, NJ., five daughters, Laura Poyer, Elkins, WV, Lynn Wallace, Watertown, NY, Lorena Adams, Chester, VA, Louise Brzozowski, Murphy, NC and Leslie Combs, Mastic Beach, NY. Also surviving is one brother, Denzil Rushton, Seaford, NY, fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were a brother, Mackenzie Rushton, three sisters, Meda Rigdon, Betty Seamon and Esther Seward, a granddaughter, Esther Eugenia Poyer, a great grandson James Eugene Poyer and and aunt and uncle, Anna and William Webb who helped raise her. Mrs. Reinhardt was a Registered Nurse. She worked in Nova Scotia with Doctor Murray, the father of singer Ann Murray who was her favorite singer. She attended her first Ann Murray Concert in 2004 where she went back stage and spent time talking about her hometown. She loved to travel, traveling to Alaska, Hawaii and throughout the United States, England, Scotland, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Mexico. She was a Honorary Associate member of Marine Corp. League Detachment 956, she enjoyed grocery shopping, playing bingo, cards and doing puzzles.

There will be a Memorial Visitation at the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, New Jersey on Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00 am – 10:30 am with a Memorial Service beginning at 10:30 am immediately followed by internment in the Andover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association, NJ Chapter, 669 Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054 in memory of Mrs. Reinhardt.
