Here are some special memories shared by family and friends.
I was shocked when I read the paper this morning. My friend Bill, you will be sorely missed by many. Working with Bill at the fair was a pleasure and when you get to know his family the open their hearts and let you in as if your a member and that kinda explains the type of man he was. I am unable to attend the viewing and services because I am leaving today for Florida but I wanted all of you to know Bill and you are in my heart and through the sadness I will be reflecting and remembering the happy times and smiling. God Bless you all. Know that I am thinking about you.

But most of all I remember his always friendly manner. One of the many good memories of the NFD. To his family Deepest Sympathy Andy Wargo

It was so dishartening to be informed that Bill had passed away. Like everyone I knew who knew him, he was a special kind of friend and brother. His help and friendship to me made my career with the Newark Fire Department one of great pleasure and delight. When one needed to understand how a fellow human being ought to be treated one only needed to look at the example in Bill Quist. Many of us owe a great debt to him for his kindness, understanding and leadership. I shall always remember and miss him. To the family, know this... through his life he has given life to many and I thank you for allowing us to share his life with you. FDS
