Geroge R. Reilly

Reilly, George R. “Pop Pop” age 71 of Sussex, NJ died peacefully Saturday August 9th, 2008 at the St. Clares Hospital Sussex Campus. Born in Jersey City, NJ he grew up and had resided there for many years. After leaving Jersey City, George lived with his family in Randolph Twp., NJ for over twenty years until moving to Sussex County fifteen years ago.       Son of the late George Sr. and Veronica (Jarvis) Reilly, he served in the US Army as a PFC E-5 in Ft. Bliss, TX from 1958 until 1962. Mr. Reilly worked for forty years as a Structural Iron Worker with both the Paterson Local #481 as well as the Jersey City Local#45 until his retirement in 2002.       A parishioner of the St. Jude RC Church in Hamburg, George was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an active volunteer with the Randolph wrestling and football booster club, as well as a long time Volunteer with the Randolph Twp. Fire Dept. Mr. Reilly was a member of MENSA, as well as a Real Estate Agent in both New Jersey and Florida.       Survivors include his wife of forty seven years, Mary J. (Staco) Reilly, his sons Brian and wife Joyce of Denver, CO, Mark and wife Karen of Santa Barbara, CA and Darren G. and wife Lynn of Hampton Twp. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren Shane, Schaal, Shea, Jesse, Alex, Carlie, Kellie and Griffin Reilly.             A funeral Mass of Christian Liturgy will be held Wednesday August 13th, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the St. Jude RC Church Beaver Run Rd. Hamburg, NJ. Visitation will be held Tuesday Aug. 12th from 2-4 and 7-9PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton.

Here are some special memories shared by family and friends.
I remember George and MaryJane used to live in the building where my parents lived. My mother and father are god-parents to their son Brian. During those years we interacted as though they were family. George was a happy go lucky guy with a great personality. He loved life and made everyone laugh..Over the years George, MaryJane and the boys lost touch with us but I always remember them fondly. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and offer my condolences to MaryJane and their sons. God Bless You. Maria (daughter of Millie and Lefty)
